Nomination Guidelines

Nominations into the Leominster High School Athletics Hall of Fame shall consist of:

Athletes
Coaches, Contributors to Leominster High School

The nomination will be considered with respect to the following criteria:

Athletes: Graduate of Leominster High School – Alumnus/Alumna for minimum of 10 years
Non-Athletes: (Coaches, Contributors)
-Retired from coaching for minimum of 5 years
-Years of service
-Contributions
-Leadership

Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

-Sportsmanship
-Honors or recognition
-Integrity
-Playing ability
-Character
-Achievements

Athletic Hall of Fame Rubric

The athletic hall of fame executive board members will consider the following criteria to recognize and honor outstanding achievements of individual athletes, coaches, teams and friends who have contributed to the success, tradition, integrity, development and promotion of Leominster High School athletics.

Student Athlete Rubric:

The hall of fame executive board members will look at the following areas for the athlete nominees:

LHS sports participation
LHS varsity letters earned
LHS team achievements
LHS individual honors (State, Central Mass Conference All Star, Telegram Gazette All Star)
Post high school recognition (College teams participated on, State, National or International, Semi-pro, Pro)

Athletes: Awards

Varsity letter (year/sport)
Scholar awards granted (i.e. National Honor Society)
Captain of team (sport/year)
Other individual honors (i.e. MVP, Coaches award, Senior athlete award)
School record/ Milestone (i.e. School record/milestone)

Athletes Honors:

Central Mass Conference All Star 1st team
Telegram & Gazette all Star 1st Team
District MVP, League MVP
State Champion
District Champion
League Champion
Post high school sports participated in/coached/all levels (sport/year)

Coaching Rubric

The hall of fame executive board members will look at the following areas for the coach nominees.

Years of service at LHS (Head coach, Assistant Coach, Volunteer Coach)
Individual Honors: (Coach of the year)

Coach: LHS

LHS Head Coach (year/sport)
LHS Assistant Coach (year/sport)
Camps/Clinics/Community Service Events Developed/Instituted

Coach Team Awards:

Playoff berth
Central Mass Conference League Champions
District Championship
State Championship
State Runner-Up

Coach Individual Honors:

Coach of the year/State or National Hall of Fame

Contributor Rubric

The Hall of Fame executive board members will look at the following areas for the contributor nominees. This special category which honors those who through devotion and support of athletic teams have brought positive recognition to the athletics program at LHS as well as the Leominster community.
