Carl Baker – 2015

1954 Graduate of Leominster High School.
Varsity track letters in all of his high school years (’52, ’53, ’54).
Senior year was selected captain of the track team.
Undefeated in the mile event in every high school dual track meet in his high school track career.
In 1953, he placed 3rd and in 1954, he placed 5th in the mile at the sate meets.
1954 he was awarded LHS track award- MVP.

Coached the first boys cross country team, first girls track team and the first Leominster HIgh School indoor track team.
Developed Mass State track meet champions in the mile, men’s Shot Put, Wmen’s Shot Put, and Woman’s Javelin.
Attended University of Massachusetts and Fitchburg State College.
Co-founder of the Leominster Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Taught in the Leominster School System for over 31 years.
